In light of the IPL's postponement, the BCCI stated that a revised schedule would be provided soon.
According to BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia, "The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has opted to suspend the ongoing IPL 2025 for one week, effective immediately. Further updates regarding the new schedule and venues will be shared after a thorough evaluation of the situation in collaboration with relevant authorities and stakeholders."
He added, "This decision was made by the IPL Governing Council after discussions with key stakeholders, including franchisees who expressed concerns regarding their players, as well as feedback from broadcasters, sponsors, and fans. While the BCCI has full confidence in our armed forces, it was deemed wise to act in the collective interest of all involved parties."
Additionally, the inaugural Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025, scheduled for May 24 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, has also been postponed due to the rising tensions between the two nations.
